Visit Milwaukee Promotes Sales and Marketing Professionals After Record Year

Visit Milwaukee professionals

Visit Milwaukee promoted five professionals across their sales, marketing and sports tourism departments. The announcement comes after a record-breaking year in Milwaukee. In 2025, the DMO booked 328,659 room nights, reaching 114% of their sales goal. The promotions recognize the leaders who are helping drive Milwaukee’s national visibility and visitor economy.  

Leslie Johnson was promoted to chief sales officer. Johnson was recognized for strong client relationships and driving meeting growth. As CSO, Johnson will oversee strategic sales initiatives. IAEE also recognized Johnson as their 2025 Outstanding Marketing & Sales Award winner, highlighting achievements in event revenue/profit, advertising revenue, attendance, sponsorship revenue, exhibit space sales and customer service.

Laura Nelson was promoted to director of group sales. Nelson’s expertise in client engagement will help secure high-value meetings.  

Alex Zimdars was promoted to senior performance marketing and analytics manager. Zimdars works to advance Visit Milwaukee’s data-informed marketing strategy. In this role, she ensures campaigns are strategic, measurable and aligned with visitors and partners’ needs.

Bryan Kubel was promoted to director of partnership and business development after securing 182 new partners last year. Kubel’s new job requirements include leading efforts to strengthen community partnerships and creating innovative collaboration opportunities.

Devric Hitchcock was promoted to Sports Milwaukee retention specialist. Hitchcock launched social media channels to draw awareness of the sports commission’s work and mission. In his new role, Hitchcock will strengthen relationships with planners to bring their events to the city annually.

Their expanded leadership aligns with our vision for the future and ensures we continue building momentum for the city we are proud to represent.”
