Grand Wayne Convention Center Adds Role

FORT WAYNE, Ind.

Grand Wayne Convention Center, located in downtown Fort Wayne, Ind., appointed Marissa Best as its new guest experience manager, a position designed to engage guests and to help create a unique and memorable experience while visiting Grand Wayne Convention Center and downtown Fort Wayne.

Best, formerly with Oakwood Resort in Syracuse, Ind., will help ensure that guest needs are met at Grand Wayne Center’s “beyond expectation” level. As Guest Experience Manager, Best will partner with the planners, staff, community partners and guests in creating memorable event experiences.

“Our goal is to help our clients achieve the best event possible and for our guests to have a unique, memorable experience during their time in Fort Wayne,” said Bart Shaw, executive director of Grand Wayne Convention Center. “With the addition of our Guest Experience Manager, we believe we will go beyond our already award-winning exemplary service. In just the short time of implementing this position, Marissa has helped create more connections with our guests [than ever before].”

Grand Wayne Convention Center holds 225,000 square feet of meeting, tradeshow and convention space, including a 50,000-square-foot, divisible exhibition hall, 18 meeting rooms, and a 12,000-square-foot kitchen with on-site chef and staff to serve up to 3,100 banquet guests. The center received the Hoosier Hospitality Award in 2011 and is recognized as a top event facility in the Midwest.
