Mandarin Oriental Makes South American Debut

SANTIAGO, Chile

Hotel Santiago reopened under Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group management. Formerly the Grand Hyatt Santiago, the property will undergo an extensive guest room and public area renovation, the first stage of which is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2018. This is the brand's first property in South America.

The hotel will remain open throughout the renovation period, and is now accepting reservations.

Hotel Santiago is located in the heart of the city's most important commercial and leisure district, known as Las Condes, home to two luxury shopping malls, restaurants, museums and theatres.

It is also close to the exclusive residential neighborhood of Vitacura.

The property comprises 310 guest rooms, including 23 suites with views of the city and the Andes. Its 269,000-square-foot grounds contain a large free-form outdoor pool and landscaped gardens.

The hotel currently features five restaurants and bars as well as a spa and fitness center. The property boasts 17,000 square feet of meeting space, including a Grand Ballroom that can accommodate 900 guests.

Hotel Santiago will continue to operate throughout the first phase of the renovation which will reposition the property as a Mandarin Oriental hotel. The new luxury accommodations, public areas and landscaped gardens will be redesigned to reflect local culture, with features inspired by Mandarin Oriental's Asian heritage.
