MPI Reiterates Anti-Harassment Policy

The following message was released by MPI President and CEO Paul Van Deventer:

“With the disturbing increase of sexual harassment stories appearing in the news and social media, I want to reiterate that MPI does not tolerate harassment of any kind within our community—whether at an event organized by MPI Global, our chapters, or in our workplace.

“Per the MPI Principles of Professionalism, we expect our members to ‘foster an inclusive business climate of respect for all peoples regardless of national origin, race, religion, sex, marital status, age, sexual orientation, physical or mental impairment.’ MPI is committed to continuing to cultivate a safe, harassment-free environment for our members, partners and the broader MPI global community.

“Accordingly, we are—among other things—working to refresh our Principles of Professionalism to include specific language that speaks to our position against harassment and will provide harassment prevention training annually to our international boards, chapter leaders and staff.”

Van Deventer also shared a blog post titled “Harassment Is Not Tolerated at MPI” on Nov. 14.
