Wyndham Newport Hotel Opens After Brand Conversion

NEWPORT, R.I.

Atlantic Beach Hospitality completed the conversion of the former Cambria hotel to Wyndham Newport Hotel. The property features a fully solar-paneled roof, electricity power harvested from a property-owned solar field located nearby and eco-friendly LED, automatic lights throughout the hotel.

“Opened in June 2017, this fresh hotel presents guests an ideal accommodation, meeting and event space option in the heart of Newport,” said Mark Gervais, general manager, Wyndham Newport Hotel. “Atlantic Beach Hospitality is pleased to bring Wyndham Hotels to our celebrated destination, creating both the product and level of service our guests seek when visiting the area.”

The 143-room hotel boasts 28,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the 8,500-square-foot Atlantic Pavilion that can accommodate up to 600 people. There is also the 8,000-square-foot Easton’s Pavilion, three meeting rooms, two boardrooms and two outdoor function venues.

The property’s on-site eatery, Johnny’s Restaurant & Patio Bar serves local seafood and offers private dining and event space.
