Radisson and Canopy Open New Properties on East Coast

A new Radisson in Times Square and two new Canopy properties in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia are some of the latest hotels with meeting space to have recently opened in the East. Learn more about each below.

Radisson Hotel New York Times Square Opens

The Radisson Hotel New York Times Square opened at 525 8th Avenue in Manhattan.

The new-build hotel is within two blocks of Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. The property features a unique landscaped entrance that offers a park-like setting. Throughout the hotel, guests can enjoy a sleek and elegant design combined with modern comfort and functionality.

"The opening of this new hotel in the heart of New York City is a true testament to Radisson Hotel Group's commitment to growth in key international gateway markets," said Aly El-Bassuni, chief operating officer, Americas, for Radisson Hotel Group. "With New York City being one of the top leisure and business destinations in the world, we're excited to greet travelers from across the globe with this newest addition to the Radisson family."

Located in Midtown West, the hotel offers 320 guest rooms, with 70 rooms that offer views of the Empire State Building. Each room features free Wi-Fi, room service and a mini fridge, creating a sanctuary to unwind after shopping or seeing a Broadway show. Throughout their visit, guests have access to an onsite fitness center and business center, luggage storage and complimentary tea and coffee.

For those traveling on business, a 12-person New York-style boardroom is available with a coordinator to assist with all the important details, including catering. The hotel also has a seasonal rooftop cocktail bar featuring sweeping views of the Empire State Building and the Hudson Yards development, including The Edge observation deck and the Hudson River.

"We are delighted to welcome New York's melting pot of travelers to Radisson with open arms for an inspired, balanced and memorable stay," said Peter McNamee, general manager of Radisson Hotel New York Times Square. "Our central location in the midst of Midtown's most happening scene will serve as a perfect place for travelers to regroup after a busy day touring the city."

Canopy by Hilton Adds Two New East Coast Locations

Canopy Washington DC | Embassy Row

Canopy by Hilton, Hilton's lifestyle hotel brand, opened the Canopy by Hilton Washington DC  | Embassy Row. The eight-story, 154-room upper upscale property is nestled in the historic Embassy Row neighborhood between the popular Dupont and Logan circles, minutes from many of D.C.'s famous museums, local restaurants and bars, premier shopping and beautiful green spaces.

Canopy Washington DC | Embassy Row's design is inspired by the capital's iconic architecture and history, Embassy Row's diverse cultures and the laidback atmosphere among D.C. locals. The design mixes concrete finishes that echo the national monuments around town with Canopy's signature color palette of orange, wood tones and natural hues.

The hotel's whimsical collection of art features exaggerated proportions and lively pops of color. Guests will begin enjoying the works upon arrival with a signature entrance piece, a face composition made up of smaller faces from many backgrounds and ages that highlights the city's diverse and inclusive culture and engages guests with an emotionally fulfilling dialogue.

The first-floor restaurant, Truno, is inspired by the Icelandic idea of having a "Truno," which is the act of sharing stories with friends or strangers over drinks. Its open atmosphere and global menu enable guests and locals to experience great stories, colorful cultures and local flavors. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the bar stays open late with a cocktail and bites menu.

A signature of the Canopy by Hilton brand, the hotel hosts a complimentary tasting each evening showcasing local drinks and bites. The hotel's staff has also been trained by Proprietors LLC, the training arm of the renowned Death & Co. bar chain, as part of Canopy by Hilton's brand partnership.

Canopy Washington DC | Embassy Row provides an array of amenities to suit guests who are looking to work, exercise and relax. Several include:

  • More than 650 square feet of meeting space that can host small meetings and intimate social events (the "Foreign Affairs room" seats up to 12, and the "Nomada room" can accommodate up to 10 and features floor-to-ceiling windows).
  • Complimentary bikes to tour the neighborhood.
  • Canopy's signature Transfer Lounge, with lockers and private showers for guests who arrive early or need to store luggage after checking out.
  • A retail wall, curated in partnership with "Shop Made in DC," that features products from local makers.

Canopy Washington DC | Embassy Row is within walking distance of many attractions (including the National Mall, monuments and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center) as well as dozens of locals' favorite restaurants and bars along the 14th Street corridor and around Dupont and Logan circles.

Canopy by Hilton Philadelphia | Center City

Canopy by Hilton also announced the addition of Canopy by Hilton Philadelphia | Center City. The 236-room hotel will open this spring at 1180 Ludlow Street as part of the East Market development in Center City.

Canopy Philadelphia is designed by BLT Architects and developed as an adaptive reuse of the historic Stephen Girard Building. Its design will pay homage to the rich history of the city while infusing a hip, modern look and feel.

The hotel will feature a signature restaurant—an American brasserie with French influence—and a sophisticated bar program. Guests will also enjoy the signature Canopy welcome gift and evening tastings that showcase local drinks and bites.

Canopy Philadelphia will provide an array of amenities to suit guests who are looking to work, exercise and relax. Several include Canopy bikes, a fitness room and approximately 3,600 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

Located in the East Market neighborhood of Center City, Canopy Philadelphia is conveniently situated between the city's historic and business districts and is in close proximity to popular destinations such as the Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia Fashion District and the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
