5 Quick Tips for Drive-To Meetings

Provide a parking alternative. If the hotel offers only costly valet parking, provide attendees with directions to a nearby surface lot that is more affordable.

Promote carpooling. Encourage attendees to carpool and provide a means, perhaps through social media, for them to link up.

Choose centrally located destinations. If you know where most attendees will be coming from, look for destinations that are within four or five hours’ drive time of the majority.

Consider alternative venues. If it’s a day meeting not requiring sleeping rooms, look for venues that will provide less expensive meeting space than hotels.

Family affairs. Since attendees are more likely to bring family along, look for hotels and destinations that are family-friendly.
