Bob Harris Hired as Executive VP of Visit Myrtle Beach

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce hired Bob Harris as its new executive vice president of sales. Harris brings significant CVB sales and marketing experience to the Myrtle Beach area. He currently serves as senior vice president of tourism at the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance.

“I am really excited about the opportunity to lead tourism sales for Myrtle Beach,” Harris said. “The Myrtle Beach area has such an outstanding reputation and product to offer visitors and groups and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to work with the sales team and our destination partners to grow visitation to the region.”

Harris has worked at the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance in leadership roles since 2007. Prior to GWCTA, Harris worked at the Georgia Department of Economic Development as director of global sales and marketing. Before that he was the executive director of the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau in Atlanta.

Harris started his career in hospitality working in hotel management in Atlanta and Williamsburg, Va.

“This is a perfect time for Bob Harris to become the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber’s new EVP of sales,” said Karen Riordan, president and CEO of Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’ve selected a very strong tourism leader who will energize our efforts in group sales, international sales and sports tourism for the destination,”

Harris serves on numerous industry and community boards, including an Occasion for the Arts and the Coastal Virginia Tourism Alliance.
