Canada’s first Canopy by Hilton hotel in Toronto, Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville, brings 184 guest rooms and 3,500 square feet of meeting space to the Yorkville and Rosedale neighborhoods as well as two onsite dining options under the leadership of Executive Chef Justin Raponi. 

New Jersey

Global Hotel Group announced the opening of the new DoubleTree by Hilton Monroe Township Cranbury, a 20-minute drive from Princeton University and 30 from Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park. The 150-room hotel features an indoor pool, fitness center and onsite dining at 390 Prime Steak & Seafood, a farm-to-table restaurant. 

DoubleTree by Hilton Monroe Township Cranbury offers 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space across 14 meeting rooms that include the 5,520-square-foot Grand Ballroom, with a capacity of 550 guests, and the smaller Renaissance Ballroom, measuring 2,360 square feet and able to host up to 250.

Marriott opened its second Le Meridien property in New York in late December, Le Meridien New York, Fifth Avenue, a 21-story property on Manhattan’s iconic Fifth Avenue featuring 165 guest rooms and 17 apartment-style residences for longer stays.

Le Meridien New York, Fifth Avenue showcases a modern design reflecting the spirit of NYC—“bold, vibrant and authentic,” according to the property The hotel’s design uses aspects of the building’s original 1914 architecture and combines them with modern touches of decor. Groups can  gather at the hotel’s onsite restaurant, serving iconic spirits and seasonally inspired dishes, or turn The Hub—Le Meridien’s take on the traditional hotel lobby—into a space to convene and connect. 

Washington, D.C.

The LEED Silver-certified Morrow Hotel, Hilton Curio Collection opened in Washington, D.C.’s NoMa neighborhood in December 2022. The 203-room hotel boasts an elegant, light-filled, street-level lobby with blonde woods and pale blue and cream furnishings.

The hotel’s French-inspired Le Clou full-service restaurant by local Michelin-starred chef Nicholas Stefanelli features a chandelier-filled private dining room in addition to The Morrow Hotel’s more than 11,400 square feet of customizable meeting and event space, including a 2,200-square-foot outdoor terrace, private level lounge and open rooftop bar and terrace.

Also new to the NoMa neighborhood is Washington Marriott Capitol Hill, opened in January 2023 and bringing more than 13,000 square feet of intimately designed event space, including a rooftop terrace and bar with landmark views. 

Washington Marriott Capitol Hill welcomes guests—and their pets—into a contemporary lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows and modern light fixtures. The hotel also offers an expansive, 24-hour gym and wellness lounge in the heart of celebrated local attractions and near Union Station. 

Coming this April is The Royal Sonesta Washington D.C. Capitol Hill, a LEED Gold-certified hotel set to bring 274 guest rooms to the city as the first new-build on Capitol Hill. The hotel will feature a glass facade with a 10-story atrium, a curated section of commissioned artworks and state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio, as well as a French bistro restaurant. 

The Royal Sonesta will bring 11,000 square feet of modern function and flexible event space, including 11 meeting rooms and a penthouse multifunction conference center and ballroom with a private outdoor terrace measuring 3,100 square feet.

Ready for Some Friendly Competition?

Following a successful first year, M Social Times Square New York announced the return of its outdoor curling rink that will take over the hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge, Beast & Butterflies, for a second year. Reservations are available in 45-minute intervals for groups ranging from 10 to 40 people. Guests can play for $45 per person and enjoy a complimentary spiked warm apple cider cocktail. 

Beast & Butterflies is a 7,500-square-foot private oasis perched seven floors above New York’s bright and bustling Times Square and boasts unobstructed views of the city in an intimate yet approachable setting. Hotel and restaurant guests can now enjoy carefully curated libations while curling in a heated, weatherized tent daily from noon to 10 p.m.

The 480-room hotel offers space for events large and small, including two boardrooms and a seventh-floor terrace able to host intimate gatherings of 10 to groups as large as 500.
