Caesars Entertainment Hosts Global Wellness Challenge for Global Wellness Day 2023

Caesars Entertainment Global Wellness Day Challenge

In celebration of Global Wellness Day (GWD) on June 10, Caesars Entertainment is hosting the Caesars Global Wellness Challenge, a two-day health-focused competition powered by Heka Health encouraging participants to “Start Walking!”

“Caesars Entertainment created the Global Wellness Day Challenge as the importance of wellness has intensified over the last several years and amplified throughout society,” said Reina Herschdorfer, director of marketing, national meetings and events for Caesars Entertainment. “Planners, experiential marketers [and] catering/convention services managers have some of the most stressful jobs in our business. The goal with our challenge is to foster a communal sense of well-being and encourage everyone in the industry to look after themselves and have some fun doing it.”

GWD is an entirely not-for-profit day internationally celebrated on the second Saturday of June every year and centered around the slogan, “One day can change your whole life.” The purpose of GWD, according to its website, is to encourage people to ask themselves how they can live a healthier and better life, recognize the value of life and increase motivation when it comes to living well.

Beginning Friday, June 9 at 12:01 a.m. PT, Caesars Entertainment is hoping to help with the GWD initiative through the Caesars Global Wellness Challenge.

For 48 hours, participants are invited to track their steps, complete Challenge Goals and work their way up the leaderboard until the challenge ends Saturday, June 10 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Participants will have the opportunity to be entered into four separate prize packages based on where they land on the cumulative leaderboard once the challenge ends.

Caesars Entertainment also encourages participants to sync step data at least once per 24 hours and before the challenge’s end time to ensure all steps are counted.

Those who opt to engage in additional wellness activities can earn bonus points to achieve Challenge Goals and possibly move up the Leaderboard. Once the challenge starts, participants will be able to access the “Bonus Activities” button in the challenge app and can choose to:

  • Use the in-app chat module to interact with other Global Wellness Day participants and share how you are living well. Participants will earn 1,000 bonus points for sharing healthy stories and photos and are limited to three bonus grants per day.

Participants will automatically receive 1,000 bonus points for completing journal entries, limited to one bonus grant per day.

Wellness at Caesars Entertainment

Wellness, in some way, has been trending in the meetings industry for a few years now. But as both planners and attendees become more in tune with what wellness looks like for them, the ways in which wellness manifests itself in the meetings and events industry continues to evolve.

“At Caesars Entertainment, people come first,” Herschdorfer said. “Wellness is one of the priorities.”

For the past several years, Caesars Entertainment has focused on taking care of the company’s employees and offering a multitude of wellness options, Herschdorfer said, “everything from onsite medical clinics, mental wellness speakers and webinars, fitness centers with personalized coaching, nutritionists, therapy and so much more.

“Healthy employees make happy employees, make happy customers!” she added. “Now, we are looking to make it easier for planners to incorporate wellness options into their programs for their attendees.”

When it comes to meetings and events, the team at Caesars Entertainment takes planner feedback and customizes programming that meets their individual wellness objectives to provide attendees with both memorable and meaningful experiences, Herschdorfer said. It’s not unusual for conferences with Caesars Entertainment to incorporate a morning run or yoga, she added, “and the 100,000-square-foot Forum Plaza is perfect for this, as is the Garden of the Gods 5-acre pool, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.”

Now, Caesars Entertainment is seeing more of a holistic approach to the wellness topics that planners are interested in, like an increased demand for healthy menus, more active wellness offerings beyond the common yoga classes and even incorporating scent into activations. Planners are also incorporating wellness-focused speakers into their programs and agendas.

“Our catering menus offer healthy options and accommodate everything from gluten-free to vegan options. We have partnered with Heka Health, who has a white label app that can be used to create a wellness challenge,” Herschdorfer said. “We have wellness speakers, yoga and tai-chi teachers and more. Also, our spas are second to none and are an amazing way to finish a conference on a high note.”
