Brand Breakdown of the 4 Largest Meetings-Focused Hotel Companies

Hotel Family Tree

It’s common for business travelers to put all their eggs in one basket when it comes to selecting a preferred brand for hotels and airlines. While this brand loyalty helps guests accumulate perks and amenities when they travel, navigating the subset brands that belong to each of the big four can be challenging.

Meetings Today created a “family tree” breaking down four of the top meetings-focused hotel companies in North America. The top two —Marriott and Hilton—cemented their national presence with the largest number of guest rooms in North America. The latter two, IHG and Hyatt, rank in the top 10 for number of guest rooms in North America but were selected due to their prominence in the meetings and events segment.

With a projected 800-plus hotels expected to open in the U.S. alone in 2026, we hope this resource makes it easier to navigate the ever-growing hospitality market.
