On the Scene at Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino

This is a milestone year for multiple properties and brands across Las Vegas. Among the celebrants is Red Rock Resorts, parent company of Station Casinos, which owns and operates 18 strategically located off-Strip casino and entertainment properties across the Las Vegas Valley. Founded in 1976 by Frank Fertitta Jr. and family-run to this day, the company turns 50 this year following record revenue and adjusted earnings in 2025, including its strongest quarter ever.

Long favored by locals, the operator is attracting increasing out-of-town business, groups included, as more visitors discover Station’s accessible pricing and other value propositions.

Top portfolio performers include three luxurious group-capable destinations: Durango Casino & Resort, opened in 2023 and a host hotel for last year’s Preview Las Vegas; Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa, which turns 20 this July; and Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in December—and which I got to experience myself during a stay in late January.

Reinvestment is a core strategy, with the trio among the company’s major properties master-planned for incremental expansion as demand dictates. Green Valley Ranch, our gracious host for one night during Preview Las Vegas 2026, is finalizing a $200-million transformation that includes the remodeling of all 493 rooms and suites and a sweeping upgrade of the property’s 69,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space.

Located in Henderson, the Mediterranean-style, AAA Four Diamond resort is a secluded oasis amid a forest of palm trees. Breezing into the gorgeously appointed lobby after a 10-minute ride from Harry Reid International Airport, I checked into a newly renovated King in the 199-key West Tower. Blending residential warmth with refined European craftsmanship, the spacious room overlooking the backyard pool complex with magical views of the entire Strip in the distance exudes sophisticated contemporary luxury.

The eight-acre backyard is a dream setting for outdoor receptions, parties and events. Rentals include the all-grass, 1,000-person Garden Amphitheater; 600-person Opium Terrace, with cabanas; 50-person Vineyard; and 100-person Terrace. The main pool deck hosts 1,000-person events, complemented by the 60-person VIP pool, The Pond.

Yet more backyard resources include the 75-person Sandbar Grille; 100-person Piazza, a favorite for weddings; and wellness programs at the luxurious 30,000-square-foot Spa. Green Valley Ranch can host events for up to 5,000 people.

Ideal for executive meetings and special occasions, the 2,500-square-foot Presidential Suite and 2,000-square-foot Strip Suite both come with two bedrooms, an outdoor terrace and backyard and Strip views.

While I was there, workers were putting the finishing touches on the dramatic transformation of the two-level indoor meeting and conference wing, a night-and-day makeover from the former ranch-inspired darker tones to an elegant, bright modern look. Versatile venues include the expansive Estancia and Grand Ballrooms, 12 breakout rooms and executive boardrooms.

Elevated dining mixed with casual concepts is a Stations Casinos hallmark. Green Valley is no exception, boasting one of the top steakhouses in Vegas, Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis, with private dining for 60. The food, wine, and cocktails are exceptional, matched by the attentive high-level service that defines the guest experience at every touch point throughout the resort. Other high-end concepts include newly opened Japanese-driven Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill, with semi-private dining for 40.

Other options include an outpost of local operator Pizza Rock from 13-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani, with private dining for 40; Borracha Mexican Cantina, hosting 150-person receptions; 26-person Tuscan-inspired Bottiglia Cucina & Enoteca; and all-new Oyster Bar.

The property-wide transformation includes the onsite Regal Cinema, a hit with locals along with the collection of bars. With the refreshed West Tower now fully back online, the renovation of the remaining 294 East Tower rooms and suites and South rotunda lobby is slated for completion this year.

Station Casinos’ luxury collection is poised for yet more master-planned reinvestment dividends. Durango, having completed one expansion last December with a new 2,000-capacity multilevel parking garage and High Limit Room, is now embarking on a $385 million, 275,000-square foot expansion that will add a mix of new gaming, dining and recreational amenities slated for mid-2027. Red Rock, meanwhile, continues to refine its culinary experiences with new restaurants scheduled for this year.
