In time for Women’s History Month, meetings industry women’s empowerment thought leader and host of the Dare to Interrupt podcast (produced by Meetings Today) Courtney Stanley has opened up nominations for her annual Women to Watch Awards, a peer-awarded program recognizing women in the meetings industry who have advanced the profession through innovation, mentorship, resilience and measurable impact.
The nomination period runs until February 27, with honorees announced March 6. Meetings industry colleagues are invited to nominate female peers who have impacted the industry in positive ways, through a form on Stanley’s website: courtney-stanley.com.
Stanley, a keynote speaker and executive coach, is celebrating the fifth year of the Women to Watch awards program, which launched a partnership with video-storytelling platform Gather Voices for this year’s awards.
“Recognition matters. But when peers speak to the real impact someone has had on them, that’s where transformation happens,” Stanley said in a statement announcing the opening of nominations. “This partnership allows us to elevate the stories behind the success and ensure these women are recognized not just for what they’ve achieved, but for how they’ve led.”
Stanley has earned numerous recognitions herself since entering the meetings and events industry 15 years ago, including being the youngest member ever elected to MPI’s International Board of Directors and a recipient of the MPI Chairman’s Award and MPI RISE Award. She also serves on the Events Industry Sexual Harassment Task Force, AWE’s Board of Directors, MPI’s Women’s Advisory Board, is a Meetings Mean Business Ambassador and is the co-founder of the award-winning movement, #MeetingsToo. Stanley also was named as a 2020 Meetings Trendsetter by Meetings Today.
