Portland’s River’s Edge Unveils Refresh

PORTLAND, Ore.

River’s Edge Hotel unveils a new look following a comprehensive guest room remodel and upgrades to its lobby, fitness center and meeting and event spaces.

Situated along the Willamette River, just minutes from downtown, the 100-room hotel offers convenient access to the city center amid Portland’s natural beauty.

“Since the redevelopment project began approximately 20 years ago, Portland’s South Waterfront has become such a bourgeoning neighborhood, and we’re excited to grow with it as River’s Edge Hotel begins this new chapter,” says Gary Gutierrez, chief operating officer of HRI Properties and president of HRI Lodging. “We’re truly on the edge of everything and look forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike for a reenergized yet quintessential Portland experience at our urban retreat.”

HRI Properties oversaw the renovation and rebranding of the hotel. The interior design, conceived by SERA Architects, a Portland-based sustainable design firm, evokes warm Pacific Northwest hospitality in a minimalist-chic setting. Simple materials and clean lines lend an air of tranquil sophistication to the public spaces and guest rooms, while boldly colored accents and large-scale geometric patterns add a playful edge. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the redesigned lobby dons polished, modern décor crafted from natural materials, such as a white marble front desk and light wood panels.

Light-filled guest rooms are bathed in a soothing color palette of blues, grays and white with pops of gold and offer scenic river or hillside views.

Residential in both style and feel, each guest room is outfitted with an ergonomic workspace, eclectic artwork and either one or two king-sized beds. Among the 100 rooms are 18 suites, ranging from 430 to 1,040 square feet, complete with separate sitting areas, furnished balconies and gas fireplaces.

The property offers 3,500 square feet of refurbished event space, coupled with a 500-square-foot riverside lawn, accommodating groups from 10 to 120 guests.

A nod to Portland’s abundant outdoor activities, the six meeting and event rooms have been revamped and rebranded as Summit, Pioneer, Cascade and Verge, and private dining rooms Forage and Bounty, complete with custom-built Portland oak tables.

River’s Edge Hotel will debut a new dining concept. The riverfront restaurant will specialize in modern American cuisine with subtle Mediterranean influences alongside an impressive wine and craft cocktail program. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and will also offer custom catering options for corporate meetings and social events.
