MGM Resorts Announces More Layoffs

MGM Resorts International confirmed another round of layoffs on Thursday, May 30, 2019. A letter to employees announced that 557 positions were eliminated. This second round of cuts follows the elimination of 2,054 management positions in April 2019.

IHG Joins Marriott and Disney in Eliminating Mini Toiletries

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has joined other major hotel chains, such as Marriott and Disney, in eliminating miniature bathroom amenities. The company will switch to bulk-size amenities in nearly all of its 843,000 guest rooms worldwide by 2021.

New Five-Star Hotel Approved for Las Vegas Strip

Majestic Las Vegas hotel gets approval from Clark County commissioners. The new, $850 million, 720-room nongaming hotel on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip is being developed by Lorenzo Doumani. Taco Bell will welcome guests to The Bell: A Taco Bell Hotel and Resort in Palm Springs beginning August 6, 2019, for five days. The hotel will offer a number of Taco Bell brand flourishes, including a Taco Bell gift shop and special menu items available nowhere else.
