This September, Cheeca Lodge & Spa, the 27-acre luxury resort in Islamorada, will debut a new meeting and event center near the oceanfront. 

The Islamorada Ballroom will be home to 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, as well as 43 new oceanfront suites. In combination with the existing 6,300 square feet of event space at Cheeca Lodge & Spa, the resort will now offer more than 16,000 square feet of event space and 244 guest rooms and suites.

The ballroom, the largest in the Upper Florida Keys, sits just north of the resort’s main lodge steps away from the ocean and features ceiling heights of nearly 18 feet. The property can host up to 1,000 guests for receptions and 788 for banquets.

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront completed a multimillion-dollar renovation and stands as the largest event facility in Northeast Florida, according to Hyatt Regency, with 116,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 15,000-square-foot conference center.

Meetings options include The Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 3,200 guests and has been enhanced with plush carpeting and modern chandeliers, as well as another 21,120 square feet of outdoor river decks and terraces. 

Georgia

Kimpton Wade Hotel is scheduled for a summer opening in Midtown Atlanta.

The property offers 6,600 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom, boardroom, five breakout rooms and two prefunction spaces, each completed with the latest technology and designed to promote comfort and focus.

InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta is nearing completion of stage one of a multimillion-dollar, comprehensive renovation, that will include a redesigned lobby, executive rooms and reimagined Gala Ballroom space.

The 422-guest-room hotel features more than 31,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, accommodating up to 1,100 guests. With updated professional catering options and sophisticated decor, InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta invites elegance, culture and serenity into its meeting spaces.

Tennessee

Situated in Music City, Conrad Nashville brings another 234 rooms and more than 17,000 square feet of meetings and event space to the already bustling midtown location.

All of the hotel’s event space is located on the second floor and features a ballroom adjacent to the terrace for both indoor and outdoor gatherings. The largest room setup is 6,370 square feet with a capacity of 400, and Conrad Nashville offers 11 other meeting rooms, catering and connectivity equipment.

For more of a countryside escape and true Southern hospitality, Franklin’s new Southall offers versatile and unique venues for mindful meetings and events needs. Situated on more than 325 acres of Tennessee’s rolling hills, the inn and working farm encourages gathering and connection through nature.

Southall’s Orchard and Amphitheater are its two largest event spaces, each with a capacity of 350 guests and situated along the shores of Lake Mishkin. The Conservatory Terrace, an open-air venue near Southall’s greenhouse conservatories and courtyard, can accommodate up to 65 guests under canvas canopies. Other unique venues include The Hilltop Pavilion and The Sundial.

Let’s Get Gaming 

ASM Global’s Tech Port Center + Arena, in San Antonio, which opened its doors in late May, is being hailed as the “most technologically advanced concert and eSports facility in the U.S.”

The $70 million, 180,000-square-foot technology arena and gaming event space is suited to host eSports competitions, conventions, conferences and concerts.

The center offers more than $5 million worth of AV technology, including exterior LED displays for messaging, wayfinding, advertising, branding and sponsorship; an arena LED display system configured to be removable and repositionable; and a production studio with a combined technical operations center.

While the main initiative behind Tech Port Center + Arena is for ASM Global, a leading producer of entertainment experiences, the center also offers 130,000 square feet of private event space for corporate gatherings, conferences and meetings.
